L’Équipe report that Ligue 2 outfit Metz have accepted a €1m excluding bonuses proposal from Portuguese giants Benfica for 19-year-old French youth international central defender Lenny Lacroix.

Lacroix made just 3 appearances in Ligue 1 last season and Les Grenats have decided to pull the trigger on a sale for a player who is out of contract in less than 12 months time (June 2023).

Lacroix has agreed a 4-year contract with SLB and he is expected to formally join the outfit in the coming hours.

Lacroix is a French U19 international and was targeted extensively by Ligue 1 outfit Reims back in the January transfer window. SDR had been looking at the player’s profile in the event of the sale of Belgian youth international Wout Faes, but in the end Faes did not leave the club at this time. Faes has still not departed, even though SDR are actively seeking to move the player on during the summer window.
