With Real Madrid flying to a Champions League semi-finals spot this season as well, a lot of focus has been on Jude Bellingham’s signing for the club.
The €103 million midfielder has defied all expectations and come out on top as their best player this season, scoring a ton of clutch goals in both, La Liga and the Champions League.
Moreover, having won the Spanish Super Cup already, it would be fair to say that their investment in the Englishman has paid off rather well so far.
Signing him was not an easy task, though, with clubs from the Premier League desperately chasing his signature, including Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
Following the quarter-finals win against City, Bellingham spoke about a bet with former Man City player, now pundit, Micah Richards regarding the outcome of the tie.
Bellingham claimed that he had a personal wager with Micah Richards about which one of Madrid or City will advance to the semi-finals. The loser would wear the shirt of the other team post-game.

Speaking to the CBS punditry panel of Richards, Thierry Henry, and Kate Abdo, Bellingham said, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo, “He was supposed to wear the Madrid shirt after the small bet we made, so I’m disappointed because I don’t see that he did it.”
“I hope we will see it in the semi-finals.”
Now in the semi-finals of their favourite tournament again, Madrid will face off against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the competition, with the first-leg set to kick off at the Allianz Arena on 30th April.
This is the most-played fixture in the history of the Champions League, and while Bayern are far from in their best form, it is a tie that promises a ton of goals and thrill.
The last few meetings have ended in favour of Madrid, with Los Blancos winning three of the last four games.
