Real Madrid will entertain Athletic Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium this Sunday night as they try to secure all three points at home in La Liga. Los Blancos managed to secure a dominant 4-2 win away at Osasuna before the international break. Hence, we can expect the Madrid giants to be full of confidence ahead of this game.

Carlo Ancelotti will set his men up in a 4-3-1-2 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his first team for this game. Jude Bellingham and Nacho will both play from the start of this contest at the Bernabeu.

Defence

Andriy Lunin will operate in between the sticks of the Madrid outfit after conceding a couple of goals in his last outing. Nacho will resume his partnership with Antonio Rudiger at the centre of Real Madrid’s backline as they look to keep the opposition at bay throughout the 90 minutes.

Dani Carvajal will function as the right-back while Ferland Mendy fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack from the wide areas.

Midfield

Aurelian Tchouameni, Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde will make up Real Madrid’s midfield as they try to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park. Jude Bellingham will play just ahead of them in the number position. He would have to carry most of the creative burden for Los Blancos in the final third.

Luka Modric will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second half if Ancelotti opts to call upon his services.

Attack

Joselu and Rodrygo will lead the line for the Madrid outfit in the final third. Both of them need to be at their best if Los Blancos are to secure a convincing win this Sunday night.

Vinicius Jr. is suspended for this game. However, both Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz should be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages of the game if required.
