The Bavarian giants couldn’t have got off to a worse start as Joshua Kimimch was sent off just five minutes into the game for a pulling back Tim Starke and stopping an almost certain goal.

It wasn’t long though, before things were levelled up player-wise.

Leroy Sané raced down the right and played in Konrad Laimer and the Austria international was fouled by last man Klaus Gjasula.

Manuel Neuer made his long-awaited return to the XI after breaking his leg back in December and was already showing why he was a huge miss to Thomas Tuchel’s side.

The Germany international made two brilliant saves in the first half but there was yet more red card action late on.

Matej Maglica took out Harry Kane as the Englishman went in on goal to see the away side go down to nine men before the break.

Into the second half and eventually Bayern’s quality told as Kane scored a brilliant diving header on 52 minutes.

And just a few moments later, Sané – who had been the best player on the pitch up to this point – tapped in from close range.

Bayern were hitting their stride now and got a third on the hour mark as Jamal Musiala struck from the edge of the area.

The hosts soon got a fourth on the board as Sané netted his second with a fine finish.

Kane then scored his best goal so far for the club as he fired in from the halfway line over the backrushing goalkeeper.

Thomas Müller came off the bench and got a sixth before Musiala scored the seventh with a smart finish.

The goals were complete in the 90th minute as Kane waltzed into the area and finished for his hat-trick.
