Bayern Munich are eyeing a ticket to the quarterfinal of the UEFA Champions League as they take on RB Salzburg in the second leg of their Round of 16 clash. The first leg between these two teams led to a 1-1 stalemate, with Bayern now needing a win to ensure their place in the next round.
The Bavarians, though, aren’t in the best of form right now. They were made to work hard for their win over Eintracht Frankfurt and were held to a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen. So it will be a challenge for the German Rekordmeister to advance, especially against a Salzburg side that showed a whole lot of determination in the first leg and will be more than willing to do the same this midweek.
Bayern Munich
After receiving fierce criticism for his 3-2-4-1 formation, Julian Nagelsmann is once again expected to return to a 4-2-3-1. The return of key players should make the job easier for the German to shuffle his pack, though Bayern will follow their usual ethos of outscoring the opposition.
RB Salzburg
RB Salzburg are expected to operate in a 4-3-1-2 formation, with the two forwards looking to hassle the Bayern centre-backs, who are prone to making defensive errors. The Austrians will also keep an eye on Bayern’s vulnerability on the wide-area, though they need to be careful of their opposition’s quick switch of play.

Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich are set to be boosted by the return of Manuel Neuer. Thomas Muller had returned to action on the weekend, as usual, meaning Leon Goretzka, Corentin Tolisso and Alphonso Davies are the only confirmed absentees for the Bavarians this midweek.
RB Salzburg
RB Salzburg are missing a few players of their own including Noah Okafor and Sekou Keita. Influential frontman Benjamin Sesko remains a doubt as well, leaving Matthias Jaissle with a decision to make in terms of team selection.
