According to Bild, Bayern Munich have shown an interest in Manchester City reserve goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

Bayern are still on the lookout for a new goalkeeper for the upcoming Bundesliga season. The club recently sold Yann Sommer to Inter for €6m, and Manuel Neuer is only back in solo training but is not expected to be back until September at the very earliest.

Several names have been mentioned in Bayern’s search for a new goalkeeper, including David de Gea and Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou. However, De Gea looks set to join Real Madrid and Bounou talks have appeared difficult.

Ortega joined Man City in 2022 from Arminia Bielefeld and has acted as the team’s reserve keeper, often playing in the odd Premier League and Cup match. In 14 competitive matches for City, Ortega has kept nine clean sheets and conceded just seven goals.

As per transfermarkt, the 30-year-old is currently valued at €9m and contracted until 2025.
