Hansi Flick is in line to name an almost unrecognisable Bayern Munich starting line-up for their DFB Pokal first round clash.

On Thursday night, the holders take on fifth division side 1. FC Düren, who have forfeited their home advantage to travel to the Allianz Arena for the game for safety reasons.

Bayern’s long foray in the Champions League resulted in the game being postponed until now but also means that they will be without several big hitters due to the current international break.

According to kicker, Flick will not call upon any of those players who were away representing their country, many of whom will only return to Bavaria on Thursday.

New signings Marc Roca, Douglas Costa, Bouna Sarr and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting are all expected to be in the starting line-up.

Youngsters Jamal Musiala and Chris Richards are also to be given an opportunity, although the latter’s inclusion depends on his fitness.

It is anticipated that Bayern will only field three first team regulars, with those being Jérôme Boateng, Alphonso Davies (who didn’t travel for Canada duty due to COVID-19 concerns) and Thomas Müller.
