Jude Bellingham has lit up Spanish football this season with his seamless adaptation to life at Real Madrid Madrid. His deputy, Brahim Diaz, has also excelled in the attacking midfield role for Los Blancos, effectively capitalising on his chances.

The result of the duo’s unparalleled success, however, is visible in Arda Guler’s position. The Turkish phenom did indeed spend a good part of the season injured, but he is now fit and is yet to see a tangible improvement in his situation.

Guler has only played 50 minutes in this season’s La Liga, and his lack of minutes has sparked talks of a departure.

As revealed by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Bayern Munich are interested in the 19-year-old midfield sensation and are willing to offer up to €40 million for his services.

The Bavarians, however, are looking for a permanent transfer which does not appear to be on Real Madrid or Guler’s plans as it stands.

After all, he is determined to succeed in the Spanish capital and has the manager’s backing.

Even though the competition for places will get stronger due to the impending arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, Guler is unlikely to be sold while the player himself is eager to stay and prove himself.

A break after the break?

Guler made a sensational impact on Real Madrid’s recent game against Alaves in La Liga. Coming on for Vinicius Jr, he was inches away from scoring an absolute Golazo from distance.

The Brazilian talisman is all set to miss Real Madrid’s upcoming clash against Deportivo Alaves after the international break through suspension. If everything goes to plan, Guler could thus have a bigger role to play on the night and have his deserved break.

While the youngster is understandably frustrated at his situation under Carlo Ancelotti, he is one for the long run and is under no immediate pressure to shine.

A slow incorporation over the coming weeks could go a long way in improving Guler’s confidence and paving the way to a longer stay in Madrid.
