As we get closer and closer towards the summer transfer window, Barcelona’s plans for the player trading period are starting to take shape.

As has been established already, a top pivot, a left-winger, and if finance permits, Bernardo Silva, are the primary targets for the Blaugrana.

At the same time, there are a few players in the current squad whose futures are far from certain.

One such star happens to be Ronald Araujo. The Uruguayan international is without a doubt a pivotal part of Xavi’s plans for the present and the future.

However, the club’s financial situation coupled with the interest he generates, have left the door open for a departure.

Bayern Munich and Manchester United intent

Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that both Bayern Munich and Manchester United hold a solid interest in Ronald Araujo and continue to insist on his signing from Barcelona.

Araujo is one of the current captains at Barcelona and is held in the highest of regards at the club. However, the performances against the likes of PSG and Valencia do raise some concerns.

Despite that, it has been suggested that a new contract could be on the way for the Uruguayan international with talks taking place.

However, Bayern Munich and Manchester United both continue to insist on his signing heading into the summer transfer window.

And, if there is an offer that Barcelona believe is too good to turn down, a departure for the former Boston River starlet might not entirely be off the table.

Araujo, for his part, has always maintained that he is happy at Barça, but it remains to be seen whether he is still at the club come the 2024/25 season.
