Bayern Munich have revealed Harry Kane has returned to individual training as he steps up his recovery from an ankle injury.

Kane sustained the problem when colliding with the post late on in Bayern's 5-2 victory at Darmstadt prior to the international break.

He joined up with the England squad for their friendlies against Brazil and Belgium, though did not partake in team training and was released back to Bayern after it became apparent he would be unable to participate in either game.

Kane, who dealt with several ankle problems during his time at Tottenham Hotspur, is continuing his rehabilitation in Germany, and Bayern have now confirmed he has stepped up his recovery.

"Harry Kane completed an individual training session at FC Bayern’s training ground on Monday morning," a statement read. "The 30-year-old striker worked with the ball alongside fitness coach Holger Broich. Kane had suffered an ankle injury in the 5-2 win over Darmstadt in the Bundesliga and returned back to Munich from the England national team camp at the weekend."

Kane has broken several scoring records since his move to Bayern last summer, though they are expected to miss out on the Bundesliga title, trailing Bayer Leverkusen by 10 points with only eight games left to play.

But Kane should be fit for Bayern's Champions League quarter-final first leg on April 9 away at Arsenal, who he scored against 14 times during 19 games at Tottenham - the most of any player in the history of the north London derby.

Bayern also provided injury updates on Raphael Guerreiro, Kingsley Coman and Noussair Mazraoui ahead of this Saturday's meeting with rivals Borussia Dortmund.

"Raphael Guerreiro also completed individual training with the ball on Monday. The 30-year-old Munich defender suffered a small muscle fibre tear in his left front thigh against Darmstadt," they added.

"In addition, Kingsley Coman and Noussair Mazraoui, who are already back in team training after their injuries, put in an extra shift on Monday, which was actually a training-free day."
