Bayern Munich have confirmed Josip Stanišić has signed a new five-year contract with the club.
The defender spent last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, where he both won a domestic double and scored against his parent club, but has now committed himself to staying in Bavaria.
Having joined the Bayern academy in 2017, Stanišić has gone onto make 41 appearances for the first team, scoring one goal.
Despite being born in Germany, the 24-year-old represents Croatia at international level and was part of the squad that was knocked out of EURO 2024 at the group stage by Italy.
Stanišić will now be part of Vincent Kompany’s squad for his first season in charge at the Allianz Arena.
