The FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga club announced the news via a post on their official club website.
News of a potential deal emerged yesterday and the speculation grew this morning with Stanway confirming her Manchester City exit. The deal has now been confirmed with Stanway having signed on with Bayern Munich until summer 2025.
After completing her move to the German club, Stanway said “Honestly, I’m so excited, it just feels right. It feels great to now be able to share the news and my excitement with the world. I can’t wait to get started and play for such a well-known club.
“It just felt right from the very first conversation. I was absolutely convinced and my instinct told me that I belonged here. FC Bayern have very big ambitions and I really admire that.”
Stanway spent more than seven years with former club Manchester City in which she won no less than seven domestic trophies. The player leaves a real legacy at The Academy Stadium and she is Manchester City’s current all-time top scorer. She will be hoping to now build on her personal successes in Germany with new club Bayern Munich.
