Bayern Munich got back to winning ways in the Bundesliga with a hard-fought 3-1 win over Stuttgart at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Scorers: Couliably 20âČ; Coman 38âČ, Lewandowski 45+1, Costa 88âČ.
Robert Lewandowski almost gave the visitors the lead after just nine minutes when his header hit the post but it was Stuttgart who would take the lead when Tanguy Couliably tapped into an empty net after Manuel Neuer had missed Silas Wamangitukaâs cross.
It looked as if the champions were going to drop points yet again but Hansi Flickâs did just enough to pick up the three points.
A counter-attack freed up Kingsley Coman to cut inside and lash a right-footed effort past Gregor Kobel before Lewandowski drilled home the winner from the edge of the box in first half stoppage time.
It was a topsy-turvy afternoon for Neuer but the Bayern keeper made an important stop to keep out Sasa Kalajdzic before Douglas Costa went down the other end to wrap up the three points with a left-footed shot cutting in from the right-hand side, straight out of the Arjen Robben handbook.
Bayern move two points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and now four points clear of third placed Borussia Dortmund.
