Bayern Munich are reportedly closing in on a new right-back.
With Joshua Kimmich now a permanent fixture in midfield and the de facto Thiago replacement, Bayern have decided to pursue Ajax defender Sergiño Dest to challenge Benjamin Pavard.
According to Amsterdam-based daily AD, an agreement is getting closer.
Bayern contacted both Dest and Ajax last week but their approach was turned away, the report claims. Bayern, though, have continued to pursue the American international.
AD say talks on Monday saw some progression in talks and the clubs are getting closer to an agreement.
Dest, under contract until 2022, has refused to sign new terms at Ajax and the Dutch giants are said to be willing to sell him for around €20m.
Barcelona have also been linked with the right-back as they look to sell Nelson Semedo, but it appears that Bayern have the edge.
