The talk in Barcelona has been all about Nico Williams in recent days, especially after the Athletic Club star offered his services to the club via his agent and made it clear that he wished to correct the mistake he made last summer.
As a younger, potentially more dynamic option who gels into the dressing room better, signing Nico quickly took over as Barcelona’s primary agenda of the summer and the player overtook some of the other names that were on the club’s table.
Luis Diaz was one such name that the Catalans were considering for the same position. In fact, the Colombian was Deco’s favourite option for the position until the Williams train came along.
As relayed earlier today, Barcelona have not completely given up on the Luis Diaz angle and still see him as a potential option to join this summer. After all, some members of the board still lean towards him as a better option.
Now, however, Florian Plettenberg relays that Bayern Munich have added Diaz to their shortlist as they look for a new left-winger to add to their arsenal.

After all, they were initially interested in Williams before the player offered himself to Barcelona.
The Bavarians are looking for a top-quality left-winger and have gathered information on the 28-year-old Liverpool star. Diaz is open to leaving the Merseyside club and his move to Germany, thus, is a real option.
Needless to say, this comes as a wake-up call for Barcelona just at the right time as they must make sense of their left-wing situation in the next few days. There is, after all, not long before pre-season begins.
Barcelona, in all likelihood, will continue in their pursuit of Noco and go on to sign him this summer. If there is a need to change the target and revert to Diaz, however, there is a real need to accelerate matters.
