Maghnes Akliouche (23) has been linked with a move away from AS Monaco throughout the transfer window. Florian Plettenberg now reports that Bayer Leverkusen are hoping to conclude a deal for around €50m. That is €20m short of Monaco’s initial €70m valuation at the start of the summer.

The France youth international has been linked with clubs across Europe, including Paris Saint-Germain, Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester City, and Arsenal. However, for now, Akliouche remains a Monaco player. Speaking at a press conference, attended by Get French Football News, Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro addressed the player’s future.

“We can’t control what happens outside. It is normal that Maghnes Akliouche is on the lists of the top clubs. We have our conditions, though. When this is the game, we are here to protect ourselves. He can stay or they can go – that is relevant to all players,” said Scuro.

Leverkusen have shown the most intense interest in the France youth international. Plettenberg says that he is a “dream target” for the Bundesliga side, who are in contact with Akliouche’s entourage. The move has been approved by Erik Ten Hag and the German club are hoping to strike a €50m deal with Monaco.
