Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi wants to stay at the club and fight for his place under new manager Frank Lampard.

The Belgian international is yet to feature under Lampard so far this season, though he scored twice for the club’s development side this week as he works towards match fitness.

Batshuayi is currently behind Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, but despite being linked with a move away is determined to fight for his place at the club.

The 25-year-old has previously enjoyed loan spells at the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace, but is now keen to try and establish himself at Chelsea having failed to secure a regular starting position since joining in a £33.2m deal from Marseille in 2016.

However, according to the Evening Standard, the forward will reassess his decision in January should he fail to secure regular first-team football with the Premier League outfit.

Batshuayi is determined to make the Belgium squad for next summer’s European Championships and will consider his future should he remain on the sidelines in the coming months.
