Newcastle United will entertain Everton at St. James’ Park this Tuesday night as they try to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies managed to earn a hard-fought 4-3 win over West Ham United recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.

Eddie Howe will opt for the 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his first XI. Harvey Barnes will get a chance to play from the start of this contest in the absence of Anthony Gordon who is suspended for this game.

Defence

Martin Dubravka will feature in between the sticks for the Magpies after shipping in three goals in his last outing. Paul Dummett could get a chance to impress alongside Fabian Schar at the heart of the Newcastle backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

Kieran Trippier will function as the right-back if he can recover in time for this game. Dan Burn will try to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.

Emil Krafth will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench. However, Jamaal Lascelles will miss this game due to injury.

Midfield

Joe Willock, Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff will make up Newcastle’s midfield as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park. All three of them need to be at their best if the Magpies are to come out on top in this midweek game.

Elliot Anderson will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Harvey Barnes will get a chance to impress as the left-sided wide player while Jacob Murphy looks to give a good account of himself on the right flank. Alexander Isak will spearhead Newcastle’s attack down the middle after scoring a brace versus West Ham recently.

Lewis Hall and Matt Ritchie will be available for selection on the bench and might come on in the latter stages of the game if needed.
