Lamine Yamal is primed to become the new No. 10 at Barcelona and it could happen as early as the upcoming season.

The 17-year-old wonderkid was already tipped for the iconic shirt number, once donned by greats like Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona for the 2024/25 season.

However, with Ansu Fati returning from loan and staying at the club, the teenage prodigy opted not to take the No. 10 out of respect for his fellow La Masia sensation.

But with Ansu now leaving for AS Monaco, the No. 10 jersey is vacant again and everything suggests that Lamine will be the one to inherit it.

In fact, the Spain winger dropped a huge hint that he will indeed take the No. 10 kit at Barcelona next season.

Taking to Instagram, Lamine posted a photo of Barça legend Diego Maradona donning the #10 kit, teasing that he is set to take over the shirt in the new season.

Barcelona are set to unveil their home kit for the 2025/26 season next week, but it is likely that Lamine’s #10 shirt upgrade will wait until July 13 when he turns 18 years old and his new contract kicks in.

Lamine has enjoyed a spectacular 2024/25 season, playing an integral role in Barcelona’s domestic treble under Hansi Flick.

Given that he has already earned the status of one of the best in the world on current form, it does not come as a surprise to see him being handed the legendary No. 10 shirt at Barça.
