Barcelona have released their latest away kit for the 2022/2023 season.
Images and promotional videos of the kit were formally released by Barcelona on Monday morning, with key stars like Pedri, Ansu Fati and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all featuring in the launch.
It comes roughly three weeks after the official launch of their home kit, which, similarly to the away kit, has received mixed reviews from fans.
The gold colour theme is an ode to the gold medals handed out to winning athletes across the event. Whereas the sleeve cuffs also feature the iconic colours of the Olympic rings which represent the union of the five continents under the Olympic banner.
It’s a key theme that Barcelona have looked to tie in with many aspects of the club this season with the 2022 summer marking 30 years since the historic event, and the club’s pre-season kits even include similar concepts centered around the gold medal ribbons.
Aside from the bold golden colour scheme and the unique inspiration behind the creation, the intrigue behind the design doesn’t stop there.
A subtle overlay across the kit’s canvas features a map of Barcelona, with prominent landmarks and streets featuring inside the pattern.
Meanwhile, the logo of the club’s new main sponsor, Spotify, also features proudly across the torso.
All in all, it’s a truly exceptional tribute to one of Europe’s most stunningly beautiful cities.
Check out the full kit below.
We actually think they’ve done an outstanding job here, much better than they managed with this campaign’s home design, however, fans have been torn on socials regarding the kit’s beauty.
Overall, it’s tough to work out whether the reaction has been more positive or negative, and it seems to have split fans right down the middle which is pretty rare when it comes to football kits.
