Barcelona’s Ansu Fati on his injury: I’ll never give up
Barcelona prodigy Ansu Fati has had a terrible past fifteen months or so with regard to injuries.
The 19-year-old wonderkid spent the majority of the last season out on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury in late 2020.
Having returned to action this campaign, the La Masia graduate has had to go through injury hell yet again. Fati had to miss close to two months of action due to a hamstring injury he sustained in early November.
And, just in his second match back in action, the forward had a recurrence of the same hamstring injury, which could now sideline him for at least a couple of months, or even more, if he has to undergo surgery.
As per data on Transfermarkt, Ansu Fati missed as many as 47 matches in all competitions last season. And he has already been absent for 17 games in the ongoing campaign and could miss at least ten more, based on the current timeline of recovery.
The situation is certainly a difficult one for the teenage sensation, who the club placed immense faith in by handing Lionel Messi’s #10 jersey this season. Despite the hardships, Ansu Fati is not one to give up and has taken to social media to send out a positive message.
“Unfortunately I am living the worst part of football, but I will never give up! Thank you so much for your messages of support and love! NEVER GIVE UP,” the teenage sensation wrote on his Instagram.
When fit and available, Fati has been one of Barcelona’s brightest players this term, scoring five goals in just ten matches in all competitions.
We wish the 19-year-old a speedy recovery from the latest injury setback!
