There were emotional scenes at Camp Nou on Sunday afternoon as Ansu Fati scored on his first Barcelona appearance for 10 months.

The 18-year-old had been sidelined for almost a year with a succession of knee problems after suffering an injury against Real Betis in November 2020.

He subsequently missed the remainder of Barça’s 2020-21 season, as well as Spain’s Euro 2020 campaign.

Handed Barcelona’s No. 10 shirt after Lionel Messi’s abrupt departure in the summer, Ansu returned to the fold against Levante on Sunday and entered the fray in the 81st minute.

The Catalan club were already 2-0 up by this point thanks to early goals from Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong.

But the biggest cheer of the day was reserved for Ansu’s return.
