Barcelona youngster confirms exit with emotional farewell post | OneFootball

A long-time member of the academy ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has this weekend announced his departure from the club.

The player in question? Pau Prim.

Prim, for those not familiar with his name, is a 19-year-old midfielder, who had long been considered one of the standout prospects on the books in Catalunya’s capital.

Unfortunately for club and player alike, however, things took a turn for the worse between the parties earlier this season.

Upon Prim making clear that he did not intend to renew his contract terms with Barcelona, the youngster was banished to the stands by those in a position of power at the Camp Nou.

And as alluded to above, this weekend, his free agent exit has finally been confirmed.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Prim unveiled a lengthy and emotional post, announcing his Blaugrana departure, ahead of a predicted move to Qatar with Al-Sadd.

In quotes relaid by Diario Sport, the midfield starlet wrote:

“Today is a different day, a day when the most special stage of my life so far ends. It is a goodbye full of emotions and feelings that I will never be able to describe. It’s hard for me to leave, but I know that everything has a cycle.

“Thank you to the club for giving me the opportunity to grow in a unique environment.

“Those who know me know that I have not stopped defending this shield until the last day. The Barça feeling is unique, and wherever I go, I will carry it inside me. I will be a culer all my life, wherever I am.”
