The situation of Marc-Andre ter Stegen at Barcelona has become a problematic one for both the player and the club.
The La Liga champions are all set to close the signing of Joan Garcia this week and intend to install him as the starting goalkeeper and retain Wojciech Szczesny as the backup.
This leaves Ter Stegen frozen out of the picture. The Blaugrana ideally prefer to offload their captain who also happens to be one of the highest earners at the club.
There is no shortage of interest either as teams like Galatasaray, Manchester United, and Chelsea are all looking at the 33-year-old star.
But, Ter Stegen so far has been adamant on his stance of not wanting to leave Barcelona and is not changing it anytime soon.
In fact, according to journalist Helena Condis of COPE, any interested clubs that have contacted the Barça captain’s agency have been met with the response that the player intends to remain at the Catalan club.

Despite the situation, the 33-year-old shot-stopper, who arrived at Barcelona over a decade ago, is ready and willing to fight for his spot in Hansi Flick’s team.
Having finished his international duty with Germany, Ter Stegen is currently on vacation. So far, the goalkeeper has not heard anything from Barcelona regarding his situation and he himself does not plan on requesting a meeting for the time being.
So, as things stand, everything appears to be in a holding pattern, with Barcelona moving ahead with Garcia’s signing and Ter Stegen remaining firm on not wanting to leave the club.
As mentioned earlier, the German is also informing any clubs making enquiries that he plans on staying, which might dissuade suitors.
