Barcelona had a horror outing yesterday as the Catalans slumped to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of AS Monaco.
The two sides were facing each other off as part of the customary Joan Gamper trophy, which usually takes place just before the start of every new season.
This game usually enables Barcelona to get up to speed and gear up for the new season. However, the Catalans had no respite against Monaco, losing by a heavy margin but also seeing their key players pick up injuries.
As reported by Diario SPORT, Barcelona duo Robert Lewandowski and Ilkay Gundogan picked up knocks against Monaco and were not hundred percent when they left the field.
Indeed, Hansi Flick had to substitute both the players in the second half. Lewandowski, for his part, landed on his own hand following a challenge. The incident saw him leave with a wrist discomfort.

Lewandowski was able to continue without any problems for more than an hour. However, the Pole looked in pain and had a worried expression when he was taken off.
Gundogan, on the other hand, had to deal with a nastier knock. The German international was introduced in the second half to replace Pablo Torre in midfield.
But he could only play about 20 minutes, as he picked up a nasty blow to his head, 15 minutes into the second half.
Gundogan had to be treated on the pitch for a cut, and a stretcher was even brought in to remove him from the pitch, but he was able to leave the field on his own two feet.
For now, it remains unsure as to how serious both Gundogan and Lewandowski’s knocks were. But we may receive an update later in the day.
