Barcelona star bring transfer talks to a ‘standstill’ after approach from Champions League club | OneFootball

A fresh twist in the future of Barcelona youngster Pablo Torre has this week been noted in the Spanish media.

As much comes amid confirmation on the part of Marca that the 22-year-old has opted to bring a halt to his advanced negotiations with RCD Mallorca.

Why? The emergence of a Champions League club in the race for his signature.

Midfielder Torre is for his part widely expected to be on the move over the weeks ahead, after struggling for game-time in Hansi Flick’s star-studded Barcelona squad this past season.

To date, the aforementioned Mallorca had been considered the clear frontrunners for his services, locked in talks with Barca and the player alike.

As alluded to above, though, on Tuesday, the Bermellones have been stopped in their tracks.

As per a report from Marca:

‘Until now, Mallorca were the team best positioned to secure his services, but the player has received an offer from a European club that will compete in the Champions League next season.’

Torre, in turn, has asked those in the boardroom at Son Moix for some time to mull over his decision.
