La Liga giants Barcelona are primed to welcome two important members of the club’s first-team squad back into their matchday ranks for the coming round of fixtures this weekend.

That’s according to journalist Alex Pintanel, who has on Thursday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Barca, of course, are currently in the midst of preparations for their return to action, following a two-week break.

With the final international break of the campaign now completed, full focus will turn towards the remaining weeks of the 2023/24 season, beginning with a La Liga meeting with Las Palmas this coming Saturday.

On Thursday, Xavi welcomed the members of his squad to have departed for duty with their respective countries last week back into his ranks at Barcelona’s training ground.

The vast majority, in turn, are expected to be available to feature from the off on Saturday.

Not only that, but two players to have been struggling with injuries heading into the international break are also in line to feature in Catalunya.

The pair in question? Ferran Torres, and Andreas Christensen.

Frontman Torres has of course been absent since all the way back in January, owing to a hamstring problem.

Versatile defender Christensen, meanwhile, was forced to pull out of the latest Denmark squad after picking up an Achilles issue.

With both now back in full training, though, they are expected to play at least some part against Las Palmas.
