Barcelona tipped to reignite pursuit of Chelsea starlet | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Tuesday been tipped to launch a fresh assault on the signature of a highly-regarded up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at Chelsea.

The player in question? Carney Chukwuemeka.

Chukwuemeka, for his part, is a gifted 20-year-old central midfielder, who has been on the books at Premier League heavyweights Chelsea for since the summer of 2022.

Despite having been considered one of the standout talents in all of English football upon his emergence at Aston Villa, however, the youngster’s time at Stamford Bridge has since proven a difficult one.

Owing to a combination of injury woes and competition for places, Chukwuemeka has been afforded a grand total of just four league starts in Chelsea colours to date.

And such struggles, it would appear, have piqued the attentions of one of Spanish football’s top clubs.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing talkSPORT, ‘Carney Chukwuemeka’s name appears again as an option for Barcelona’.

The Blaugrana were previously credited with an interest in the Englishman whilst he was still on the books of Aston Villa.

On the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park with a view to next season, and in the knowledge that Chukwuemeka could be available on the cheap amid Chelsea’s delicate financial situation, the Barca brass are in turn giving consideration to tabling a summer offer for the starlet.
