Barcelona kicked off the game against Celta Vigo in a jubilant mood after having won their last two games with 5-0 scorelines.

However, the mood around Montjuic is likely to be sombre heading into half-time as the Catalans find themselves trailing Celta 1-0.

Apart from having seen their team trail on the evening, Barcelona fans were also dealt with a potential injury concern as key midfielder Frenkie de Jong had to come off during the first period.

Indeed, the in-form superstar appeared to have tweaked his ankle around the 17th-minute mark, following which he appeared in serious pain and was spotted limping.

However, the Dutchman opted to soldier on and stayed on the pitch, but could not continue for much longer as he was subbed off by Xavi Hernandez in the 33rd minute.

The 26-year-old was replaced by Gavi, who earned a booking seconds after he stepped onto the pitch.

De Jong’s potential injury could be a cause of worry for Xavi and Barcelona given that he has been one of the team’s best performers so far this season.

With Pedri also out on the sidelines, if the Dutchman’s knock is also a serious one, it could become an issue for the La Liga champions.
