Barcelona still owed €23 million from player sales to other clubs – report | OneFootball

Barcelona’s financial report for FY23/24 raised some eyebrows this week, with the club confirming that Sergio Aguero has filed a €3 million conciliation notice.

The club also disclosed settlements made with other players. But in the annual report, Barça revealed that the club are entitled to a hefty payment from other clubs as part of transfer dealings with said clubs.

Barcelona owed €23 million from other clubs

As reported by SPORT, the financial report reveals that the club are still owed over €23 million from player sales to other clubs.

While the club face their own debts, the amount they are due from other teams offers a financial boost in the months ahead.

The club that owe the most are Real Betis, with two separate payments. Betis still need to pay €4.8 million for Chadi Riad, along with an additional €2.3 million for the transfer of Ez Abde.

Other notable outstanding payments include the €3.3 million that Atletico Madrid owe for the transfer of Antoine Griezmann, a deal that was completed in 2022.

Barcelona are also due nearly €4 million from Al Ahli for Franck Kessie, while Porto still need to pay €3 million for the transfer of Nico Gonzalez.

Interestingly, Barça are reportedly considering bringing back Nico following his excellent performances at Porto.

These larger sums are complemented by smaller amounts owed by several other clubs. For instance, Getafe must pay €1.5 million for Carles Alena while Zenit owe €1.125 million for Malcom, and Sampdoria have €1 million outstanding for Estanis Pedrola.

Additional minor amounts include €611,000 owed by Chelsea for Marc Cucurella, €968,000 from Villarreal for Jorge Cuenca and €92,000 from Manchester City for Sergi Gomez.

These sums, though smaller, contribute to Barcelona’s overall financial situation as the club continue to navigate their through this economic mess.
