Barcelona star suffers injury in warm-up for Sevilla clash | OneFootball

Barcelona have on Sunday evening been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.

This comes after Eric García was forced into a premature departure from the warm-up for the club’s meeting with Sevilla.

Barcelona are of course locked in action at present, in a La Liga clash with García Pimienta’s Sevilla.

Eric, for his part, was named in Hansi Flick’s starting XI for the matchup, forming the base of the Blaugrana’s midfield alongside Marc Casadó.

A quarter of an hour out from kick-off, however, the former Manchester City man, all of a sudden, pulled up.

After being tended to by the hosts’ medical staff in Catalunya’s capital, Eric was accompanied down the tunnel, and back to the dressing room.

And his problem has proven serious enough to rule the Spanish international out of proceedings on Sunday night.

As confirmed in a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms, Eric has been forced to pull out of the club’s line-up, with Ansu Fati instead in from the off against Sevilla:
