Barcelona star names Arsenal’s William Saliba as favourite centre-back | OneFootball

Barcelona star Eric García has on Tuesday named Arsenal star William Saliba as his favourite central defender in the game at present.

The name of Gunners standout Saliba has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines across Spain over recent weeks.

This comes after comments on the part of Real Madrid stalwart Antonio Rüdiger set tongues wagging.

After naming Saliba and defensive partner Gabriel as two of world football’s three standout centre-backs, Rüdiger, during an interview with The Inside Scoop, went on to add:

“I’m very happy with my centre-back partner, Militão. He came back from a big injury, he’s getting back to his best. But there’s so many games, so we would rotate, so to have Saliba… it would be great.”

And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, another leading La Liga defender has added his name to the list of Saliba’s public admirers, too.

Speaking during an exchange with the media this afternoon, Eric García was asked:

”Who is the centre-back you like most right now?”

And the Barcelona star did not hesitate, in responding:

”Saliba”
