One of the big talking points of a busy summer transfer window was Robert Lewandowski’s future at Barcelona.
On numerous occasions, the veteran Polish striker was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia due to their huge activity in the market, and Barcelona’s stringent finances which could have used a major boost.
However, the Catalans and Lewandowski remained intent on continuing their relationship and there was no sign of either party being discontent.
Even though the move did not materialise and Lewandowski stated that he is not interested in a move to the Middle East, the big spenders in Saudi Arabia are not looking to give up their interest in the player anytime soon.
According to reports by SPORT, they will continue to tempt the forward to join even though he has a year and a half left on his Barcelona contract.
Abha Club were one of the frontrunners to sign Lewy in the summer, as their coach is Czeslaw Michniewicz, formerly the head coach of Poland’s national team, who still reportedly has a great relationship with Robert Lewandowski.

Saad Bguir, the 29-year-old midfielder for Abha Club, who were one of the clubs strongly in the hunt for Lewandowski, said of the Pole:
“We need top-level players like Lewandowski. Those are the type of signings we should make if possible.”
The side have not been doing too well in the Saudi Pro League and may go down a similar route to other teams in the league, dipping into the public fund to bolster their side in the upcoming transfer windows.
Lewandowski has always maintained his desire to stay in Europe and win titles, but it looks as though Saudi’s efforts to sign him will not stop anytime soon.
