Barcelona star responds to surprise Fenerbahçe links | OneFootball

A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has today responded to speculation linking him with a move to Turkey.

The player in question? Robert Lewandowski.

For those not aware, the name of frontman Lewandowski has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Istanbul over the course of recent days.

This comes after reports were forthcoming that the Polish international had been earmarked as a leading summer target on the part of Fenerbahçe.

Ahead of the imminent appointment of José Mourinho, Fener are keen to add a high-profile presence to the club’s frontline, with Lewandowski, it is understood, a leading target.

Speaking to the media after departing for international duty this weekend, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of such links was put to Lewandowski himself.

The 35-year-old, however, was quick to play the chatter down, confirming that he is yet to be informed of any interest by way of the Turkish Süper Lig:

“Fenerbahce interested in me? I don’t know anything about this.”
