Barcelona star back in training ahead of Almería | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday been afforded a boost on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that a headline member of the club’s defensive ranks has linked back up with the rest of the club’s squad in first-team training.

The player in question? Ronald Araújo.

Stopper Araújo, for his part, was a surprise absentee from Barcelona’s line-up on Monday night, when the Blaugrana welcomed Real Socieded to Montjuïc for a La Liga clash.

Speaking to the media post-match, Xavi went on to reveal that as much came owing to a ‘small, unimportant annoyance’ on the fitness front, with the Uruguayan having been rested as a result.

On Tuesday, though, the same problem has kept Araújo out of training, too.

With Barcelona set to return to action on Thursday night, in a meeting with Almería, the 25-year-old’s availability was in turn considered to be up in the air.

Those of a Blaugrana persuasion eager to see Araújo back in action at the Power Horse Stadium, though, need not fret.

As much comes with the stopper having been spotted back in full training alongside the rest of Xavi’s ranks on Wednesday morning.

He is in turn expected to be ready to feature from the off in 24 hours’ time.
