Barcelona squad has several messages for Chelsea | OneFootball

Barcelona opened their season last night with a 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano – a result that brought a smile to the faces of many Chelsea fans who have been frustrated by the way the Catalan club has stolen so many of their targets this summer.

But our business with them isn’t done yet – there could yet be a move or two each way.

The selection for their game last night raised eyebrows – Sergino Dest wasn’t in the squad at all, and his role for Xavi could diminish even further if the Blaugrana buy Marcos Alonso from us – which looks like it could happen this week. Cadena Ser today write that it was a clear signal to the US international that he’s just not going to play a part in the team this season.

That opens the door for us to buy Dest, a move which Barca will be happy with, and gives us some flexible cover down both flanks.
