Robert Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona looks inevitable at this point, with the Pole aggressively looking for an exit. The Catalans, too, are hellbent on bringing him in, and have prepared their third offer for him.

Tomasz Wlodarczyk says Barcelona could send said proposal in the next 24 hours, which amounts to €40 million in fixed payment and €10 million in variables. The total amount could reach €50 million, which is what Bayern reportedly look to get out of the deal.

The transfer fee may seem excessive for a soon-to-be-34-year-old, but Lewandowski is at the peak of his fitness, and without doubt, one of the best players in the world.

He ended last season with 35 goals in 34 games in the Bundesliga, and did not miss a single minute through injury in any competition.

Lewandowski has had several offers from European giants, including the likes of Chelsea, but the player only wants to move to Barcelona.

Recent reports have indicated that Bayern have increased their asking price from €50 million to €60 million, with one rumour even claiming they’ll hold out for €70 million.

Barcelona will be able to afford Lewandowski, along with his probably huge wages, if they can finalise the sale of their economic levers in the form of Barcelona Licensing and Merchandising, and TV rights.

Everything indicates that after signing Lewandowski, the Catalans giants will shift their attention towards Jules Kounde, who is expected to cost €60-65 million. And should Frenkie de Jong be sold to Manchester United, €90 million-rated Bernardo Silva is their target.

The transfer window of 2022 has the potential to make or break Xavi’s Barcelona project in the short term. Therefore, Joan Laporta and the administration must proceed with caution.
