It seems that Barcelona’s focus for the final ten days of the winter transfer window is clear: either Marcus Rashford, if possible, or no one.
The Catalans understand that signing the out-of-favour Manchester United forward will be extremely challenging as they need to offload some players first, but so far no one is willing to leave.
However, according to SPORT, despite the difficulties, Barcelona are planning for Rashford’s arrival, to the extent that the sporting management has made clear the amount they are prepared to contribute towards his contract until the end of the season.
Barcelona are willing to offer €6 million gross, meaning that Manchester United would need to assist with the deal and the player would have to take a wage cut, which he is willing to do.
The Blaugrana have shown interest in Rashford from the start and made it clear to the Englishman that they would attempt to secure his loan, despite very little room for manoeuvre.
The La Liga behemoths never promised anything, but he has rejected other offers, expressing a desire to play for them. This determination has impressed both Hansi Flick and Deco, who believe he has the ideal attributes to strengthen the team’s attacking play.

The primary obstacle for Barça in pursuit of Rashford has been his salary. At Manchester United, He earns around €18 million net, which would amount to approximately €9 million for the remainder of the season, costing the club around €17 million gross.
Barcelona are not in a position to meet such a financial commitment and are only willing to contribute approximately €3 million net.
The rest of the cost would need to be covered by Manchester United, who would relieve themselves of some financial burden, and the forward, who is willing to make the sacrifice.
All parties are clear on how the operation could unfold, but Barcelona must free up €6 million before the end of the window, which is no easy task.
Ansu Fati’s departure would help, but he is reluctant to leave. As such, the attention is being focused on the centre-back position, where there is a surplus of players following Ronald Araujo’s recent contract renewal.
Eric Garcia has firm offers but the club are not considering his departure. Andreas Christensen could emerge as a candidate given that he will have limited game-time.
Rashford is willing to wait until the end of the window, and he has not ruled out staying at Manchester United until June if Barcelona cannot secure the deal.
