Man Utd and Arsenal target Memphis Depay is open to leaving Barcelona in the summer and will hold talks with the club soon, according to reports.

The Netherlands international has been out of favour at the Catalan giants this season with Depay only making four appearances in all competitions under Xavi.

A recent report linked Man Utd and Arsenal with Depay and claimed that the forward ‘wants’ a move back to Old Trafford with the Red Devils ‘considering’ move after ‘holding talks last summer’.

Depay was mooted as a possible target for Man Utd in the summer too as the Red Devils brought in over £200m worth of players in a show of support for new manager Erik ten Hag.

Six new signings arrived at Old Trafford in the form of Antony, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Martin Dubravka.

And now Man Utd are looking to go back into the market again in January as they look to bring in a forward to replace Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portugal international mutually terminated his contract at the club in November.

Wout Weghorst is the latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford but other options are understood to include Depay and Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix.

And Spanish publication Sport insists that Man Utd and Arsenal have ‘sounded out’ Barcelona over a potential move for Depay but that Xavi has ‘made it clear’ that he does ‘not want changes’ to his squad.

The ‘impossibility of registering signings’ means Xavi is keen to keep all his players together, even those he doesn’t use as often like Depay, who didn’t come off the bench yesterday as Barcelona won 1-0 at Atletico Madrid.

However, Sport adds that ‘the future of Memphis is up in the air and things could happen in the last days of the market’ with the Dutchman out of the side even with Robert Lewandowski missing through injury.

Depay remains ‘silent’ on his future but a ‘summit’ is scheduled for January as they ‘analyse his situation’ with the Barcelona attacker ‘open’ to all ‘scenarios’.

Barcelona are clear that they ‘will only give in if there is a transfer involved and they save the six months of Memphis’s salary’.

Felix has also been heavily linked to Man Utd and Arsenal with the Portugal international believed to be available on loan until the end of the season, although Atletico Madrid have asked for £19m for a six-month deal.

And now Marca claims Arsenal and the Red Devils now ‘seem to be left alone’ in the race to sign Felix with his agent Jorge Mendes in talks with the two Premier League clubs.
