The powers that be at Barcelona are giving serious consideration to activating their option to buy on Pau Víctor this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Tuesday provided a fresh insight into the situation.

Frontman Víctor, for his part, linked up with Barcelona last summer, as part of a season-long loan from La Liga rivals Girona.

And, safe to say, the 22-year-old has since gone on to make his presence very much felt in Catalunya’s capital.

All told, across 22 appearances to date for Rafa Márquez’s Barca Atlètic, he has racked up a head-turning 18 direct goal contributions.

As much comes by way of 14 goals and four assists, enough for Víctor to boast top scorer status for the Blaugrana’s reserve outfit.

The Spaniard, as a result, has been called up to first-team training on a number of occasions, even included in his matchday setup by boss Xavi on three separate occasions.

And though he is yet to actually take to the pitch for the Catalans at senior level, it is likely that as much would have been forthcoming by this point, if not for the emergence of Marc Guiu, and signing of Vitor Roque.

All of this considered, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear that the Barcelona brass are keen to make Víctor’s signing a permanent one.

As per the aforementioned MD, the attacker’s loan deal features an option to buy set at just €3 million, which could well be taken up upon the season’s close.
