A fresh insight into the plans of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona for youngster Vitor Roque has been forthcoming online.

The subject of frontman Roque’s situation has of course stolen the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last week.

As much comes after the Brazilian’s agent confirmed his readiness to seek out a departure, in the case of Roque not being guaranteed an uptick in game-time.

Andre Cury was also adamant that any such deal would not come in the form of a loan, but instead a permanent transfer.

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then the Barcelona brass, evidently, have an altogether different plan in mind for their struggling attacker.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of transfer insider Fabrizio Romano that the most likely path forward for Roque is in fact a year-long loan next season.

Speaking as part of his ‘Daily Briefing‘, Romano revealed his take that Deco and the Blaugrana board are ready to ‘insist’ on the 19-year-old being farmed out for a year, to gain further experience of the European game:

“Vitor Roque? Yes, there is tension, but the relationship between his agent and Barcelona is good. A meeting will happen between the player’s agent and Barça. I think Barcelona will insist on a loan.”
