Spanish giants Barcelona have today reached an agreement with La Liga, regarding the registration status of midfield starlet Gavi.

Youngster Gavi, of course, is currently sidelined long-term, owing to a serious knee injury suffered whilst on international duty with Spain last November.

Prior to as much, however, his employers had found themselves embroiled in a long-running dispute with Spanish club football’s governing body.

This came owing to the all-action midfielder’s registration status in Catalunya.

The powers that be behind the scenes in Barcelona have long been pushing to have Gavi registered as an official member of their first-team squad.

After the 19-year-old was initially granted as much early last year, however, the decision was later overturned, upon the National Court ruling in favour of La Liga – whose issues regarding the topic were related to Barca’s financial constraints.

Barca then saw their pleas answered once more last summer, only for La Liga to appeal, leaving the situation up in the air following a delay in the hearing process.

As alluded to above, though, on Thursday, the parties have at long last resolved their differences.

As confirmed by RAC1, Barcelona and La Liga have reached a definitive agreement, for Gavi to maintain his status as a first-team player moving forward.

As much means that the Spanish international, upon his return from injury, will be under no risk of being reinstated as a youth team player, in turn continuing to don the number 6 jersey in the Blaugrana’s senior ranks.
