After ending the season without any trophy, Barcelona will be raring to get things right next campaign. And in order for them to climb back to the top of the pile in Spain and Europe, they will need to get their plans for the summer transfer window spot on.

And, as reported by Javi Miguel of Diario AS, Barcelona could be prepping for a major revolution in the summer, with a massive squad overhaul seemingly on the cards.

The journalist is claiming that the Catalans are planning to sign as many as nine players in the upcoming transfer window. And, at the same time, as many as 11 players could be shown the doors by the club, in order to clear up space for the incomings.

Of the nine signings that are seemingly being planned, two have already been completed as Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen are expected to join Barcelona on a Bosman deal when their contracts with AC Milan and Chelsea, respectively, expire.

Robert Lewandowski is a top priority as the Blaugrana plot to bring in a world-class striker, while another winger is also being eyed, amid question marks over the renewal status of Ousmane Dembele.

A new left-back to compete with Jordi Alba is also being eyed, while a right-back could also be brought in, with Chelsea duo Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta being linked for the positions, respectively.

A new central midfielder could also be sought, depending on what happens with regard to Frenkie de Jong’s future. An heir to Sergio Busquets is also being looked at by the Catalan giants.

And, apart from Andreas Christensen, Barcelona are also seeking to add another centre-back as well, with Kalidou Koulibaly and Jules Kounde being top targets.

As for the exits, Philippe Coutinho has already been sold, while the likes of Adama Traore and Luuk de Jong will move on once their loan deals expire.

Dembele’s future continues to remain a puzzle, while fringe players like Samuel Umtiti, Martin Braithwaite, Clement Lenglet, Oscar Mingueza and Riqui Puig could also be offloaded.

De Jong’s future also remains a subject of huge debate amidst interest from Manchester United, while Sergino Dest continues to be linked with an exit as well.

It remains to be seen how Barcelona go about their transfer business this summer. But their activity in the next couple of months will have a huge say in how the 2022/23 season pans out for the Catalans.
