Barcelona are keeping an eye on exciting young talents coming through in Spain and abroad to strengthen their youth and reserve ranks with an eye on the future.

Mika Faye, Noah Darvich, and others were signed last summer in line with that strategy, and Deco & co. continue to show strong interest in several young starlets heading into the upcoming transfer window.

Marc Domenech on the agenda, but bid rejected

Indeed, as per SPORT, Barcelona have their sights on Mallorca’s young goal-machine Marc Domenech but have seen their opening bid for the attacker get rejected.

Domenech, born in 2006, played this last season with San Francisco – a club affiliated with Mallorca in Group III of the Youth Honor Division and finished as the top scorer in the competition after bagging 21 goals.

The young attacking prodigy’s goalscoring ability caught the eye of the Barcelona scouts and the club are now trying to close his signing.

To that end, Barça tabled an opening bid of around €300,000 which has been knocked back by Mallorca, who are eager to shield their prized talent.

As per the report, Domenech has a contract with Mallorca until the summer of 2027 which comes equipped with a release clause worth €1 million.

It is further stated that the release clause amount would shoot up to €3 million once the youngster is promoted to the club’s reserve team.

Mallorca intend to extend Domenech’s contract by two more years and also improve his salary. They also have a plan for the teenager’s progression to the first-team setup at the club.

As such, they are unlikely to be willing to negotiate and Barcelona will have to meet his release clause if they are serious about landing the goalscorer for their youth teams.
