Barcelona are reportedly open to selling young left-back Gerard Martin this summer, as per an update from Fichajes.
The club is willing to consider offers in the region of €15 million, which is the minimum value set for beginning negotiations.
Martin was one of the standout revelations of last season, stepping in reliably when Alejandro Balde was unavailable.
He earned praise for his calmness under pressure, particularly during high-stakes matches such as the Champions League fixture against Inter. However, his status within the squad has shifted in recent weeks.
Martin’s position has been made more vulnerable by the impressive pre-season form of Jofre Torrents, another La Masia graduate.
The youngster has caught the eye of head coach Hansi Flick, who prefers full-backs with explosive pace and attacking intent, qualities Torrents offers in abundance.

Although Martin is admired for his defensive composure and ability to retain possession, he lacks the dynamic forward drive Flick is seeking. As a result, the German manager may be inclined to move forward with other options at left-back.
Interest in Martin is already surfacing from several Premier League clubs, and reports state that Barcelona will not stand in his way if a suitable offer arrives.
Financially, the sale of a homegrown player represents a clean profit for the club, which is crucial given their ongoing efforts to balance the books.
Importantly, the Blaugrana are also considering the inclusion of a buy-back clause in any potential transfer. This would give the club flexibility in the future should Martin develop further and reach new heights elsewhere.
With the transfer window still open, the coming weeks could be decisive for the future of one of last season’s most trusted young performers.
