La Liga giants Barcelona were recently contacted by super agent Jorge Mendes, over a potential deal for one of his clients.
That’s according to Diario Sport, citing El Chiringuito TV, who point towards Marco Asensio as the player in question.
It is of course common knowledge at this point that the brass at Barcelona are on the lookout for reinforcements in the attacking third with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.
A whole host of options from across the continent have in turn been touted as potential arrivals in Catalunya’s capital.
With a definitive agreement with any such option yet to be struck, however, the aforementioned Jorge Mendes recently touched base with the Blaugrana.
This came with a view to offering up the services of Marco Asensio.
Former Real Madrid man Asensio has been in and out of Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain XI this season, with the January arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia having knocked the Spaniard further down the pecking order.
As per Sport, Mendes therefore made Asensio available for a possible loan move to both Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.
Neither club, however, has since showcased any intent to get a deal done.
