Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is not a priority target for Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window.

Barcelona were interested in Silva last year as well but a deal never came to fruition with Manchester City.

The Portuguese decided to stay put at the Etihad and signed a new deal despite being keen on a move to the Catalan giants.

There are rumours around Barcelona wanting to sign the midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window as well.

However, according to Catalan daily Sport, Barcelona are not prioritising the arrival of Silva at the moment.

The club still have financial issues that are again likely to curtail their spending power in the next transfer window.

For the moment, the club are keen to sign a midfield pivot over any other position in the middle of the park.

A large portion of their resources is likely to be allocated to getting their hands on that deep midfielder.

Barcelona also believe that the €58m buyout clause in Silva’s contract is excessive for a player in his 30s.

Any move for the Portuguese would depend on Barcelona selling a couple of players and Manchester City agreeing to negotiate a fee.
