The past month or so has been a memorable one for Barcelona midfielder Pedri as he went on to win the UEFA Euro 2024 with the Spanish national team.

While the triumph in Germany brought a lot of joy, it also came with some disappointment for the 21-year-old as he had to miss the semi-final and final matches against France and England, respectively.

After all, Pedri suffered a knee injury during the quarterfinal clash against Germany that ruled him out of the remainder of the tournament and possibly for six weeks in total.

Pedri back at Barcelona

Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Pedri returned to the Barcelona training facilities earlier today and underwent medical tests to examine his knee injury.

Pedri celebrated winning the European Championship in style with the rest of his Spain teammates on Monday despite being injured.

After a big day of celebrations, the 21-year-old midfielder went to the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Tuesday morning to undergo further tests under the supervision of Barça’s medical services.

Pedri could be ready for Valencia

The first forecasts were that Pedri could be out for around a month, so if the forecasts come true, the Canary Islander will miss the three pre-season friendlies on the tour of the United States.

Unlike the serious injury to Ronald Araujo, who will have to undergo surgery in Finland in the coming days to repair the hamstring injury in his right thigh, Pedri’s left knee problem is not as serious.

As such, the report states that Pedri could be ready and available to face Valencia in Barcelona’s opening game of the La Liga season on August 17.

If so, it will be a major boost for the Blaugrana and manager Hansi Flick, who has already been dealt with several setbacks in a short time at the helm of affairs.
