Barcelona make call on potential Raheem Sterling signing | OneFootball

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have come to a definitive call on the possible signing of Raheem Sterling from Chelsea.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

The name of wide-man Sterling has of course positioned itself centre stage in the headlines in England over the course of the last week.

This comes after the 29-year-old was left out of new Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca’s squad for the club’s season opener against Manchester City.

Maresca has since publicly reiterated that game time will prove hard to come by for Sterling at Stamford Bridge this season, with the former Liverpool talent having been swiftly tipped for a transfer as a result.

One club who do not plan to position themselves in the running for Sterling, though, are Barcelona.

Amid their ongoing search for fresh blood on the left flank, the Blaugrana had been tentatively pushed as a potential landing spot for the England international this week.

But, as per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Raheem Sterling is not on the list of possible signings for Barcelona.’
