Barcelona loanee Clement Lenglet could become a source of income for the Blaugrana after a report from SPORT emerged, saying that the Frenchman is being targeted by Bayern Munich as part of their January transfer window plans.
Bayern Munich’s defensive challenges, compounded by Matthijs de Ligt’s knee injury, have prompted the club to actively explore the possibility of recruiting two new defenders in the upcoming January transfer window.
Among the potential options under consideration, Lenglet has emerged as a viable candidate for the German team. Although discussions have taken place to facilitate the move, Barcelona are inclined to approve the transfer only through a permanent sale.
In order to proceed with this arrangement, the player, currently on loan to Aston Villa, would need to be recalled and subsequently sold to Bayern. The proposed transfer fee is anticipated to be in the vicinity of €10 million.
It is said that Bayern consider Lenglet a perfect market opportunity due to his situation at Aston Villa.

Discontent with limited playing time at Aston Villa, Lenglet is eager to secure a move in the January market.
While options in Spain were available, Bayern’s interest may expedite the process, with the Bundesliga being Lenglet’s preferred destination, although an agreement between Barcelona and Bayern must be reached.
While Aston Villa is unlikely to pose obstacles, Barcelona imposes conditions, insisting on a permanent sale to Bayern rather than a loan arrangement.
According to sources, Lenglet has been suggested to Bayern by none other than Harry Kane, who shared the field with the Frenchman at Tottenham Hotspur last season.
Now, the Premier League side made efforts to retain him during the summer, but a deal couldn’t be reached as Barcelona insisted on a €10 million transfer fee.
However, recent developments indicate that the Catalans are now open to approving a deal for €10 million, a sum well within Bayern’s financial capacity.
As for Bayern, they are actively assessing the market and exploring potential transactions. While Barcelona has been made aware of their interest, progress has been limited due to various factors, including the fact that the German champions are also exploring other options.
Within the Barcelona offices, everyone is keen on sanctioning a permanent deal for the defender as it would result in significant savings on one of the team’s highest contracts.
